Who We Are
The Boys and Girls Club of Los Fresnos was chartered in December of 2000 and had a daily attendance of 25 children in a 1,100 square foot building where children got help with homework and played board games after school. In 2009, the Club was awarded two grants from HUD and one grant from the Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council to build a 8,800 square foot facility that accommodates a daily attendance of 100 youth. This facility has allowed us to expand the services we offer to include homework and tutorials with Sylvan Learning Centers, a community feeding program that serves an average of 17,000 meals a year, and sports and recreational programs throughout the year which served hundreds of youth.
Mission:
To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.
