Who We Are

Established in 1998, this program provides an 8-week day camp held at site churches. The summer program focuses on enriching the mind, body, and spirit; with a unique emphasis on literacy.  Each elementary child is paired with a reading volunteer to read each morning. All students participate in afternoon reading enrichment activities that target each child’s reading deficiencies.  Also included is art enrichment, physical education, bible lesson, nutrition education.

What We Do

During the summer program, Project Transformation teams, implement an eight-week summer day camp for 30 to 80 elementary children. Sites are located in churches in the heart of low-income communities in the San Antonio and Valley areas of Texas. Components of the program include: team building, games, Bible-lessons, one-on-one reading and literacy activities, recreation, art, health and wellness, brain-breaks, dance parties, and more. We intentionally open space to share their joys, passions, and talents with the children.
