Needs From: Engagement Zone at UTRGV

The Challenge-RGV is an opportunity for participants to make sustainable healthy lifestyle changes and lose weight when appropriate. The Challenge-RGV partners with local gyms, fitness experts, nutritionists, and local organizations. Over the course of three months, participants have FREE access to gyms, exercise classes, health screenings, cooking classes, and fun walks/runs.

The event is open to those who registered to participate in January. Individuals who participate in The Challenge-RGV have their baseline weight taken at the kickoff event in January, and then again at a midpoint weigh-in and at the finale in April. Join us in celebrating the health journey of our participants at our Finale event!

We are in need of assistance with guiding, pedestrian traffic control, helping with data collection, water station assistance, or assembling and distributing gift bags after participants have completed their weigh-out process for The Challenge-RGV Finale event in Brownsville. All volunteers are required to arrive an hour before the event start time to assist with set up.

The Challenge-RGV Finale: Saturday, April 25th – Brownsville Farmers Market at Linear Park (1534 E. 6th St, Brownville, TX 78520) from 9:00am - 11:30am (UTRGV volunteer arrival time is 8:00am)
