Join ViVa for their inaugural Sole to Soul Scholarship Benefit 5K Run/Walk and make a real impact in the community! Volunteers will help create a high-energy, meaningful experience while supporting the Village In The Valley Scholarship Fund, which provides educational opportunities, community programs, and initiatives that preserve and celebrate Black history in the Rio Grande Valley. Roles will be assigned on the day of the event.
Roles/Opportunities:

Water Station Support

Set up, stock, and manage water stations along the course

Hand out water or sports drinks to participants

Maintain cleanliness and safety at stations

Medal Distribution & Finish Line Support

Hand out medals to participants as they finish
-
Cheer and encourage runners
-
Help organize and maintain finish line flow

Participant Check-In

Assist with participant check-in and registration
-
Distribute race bibs or participant packets

Provide event information and answer questions

Course Direction & Route Support

Monitor specific points along the race course

Guide participants along the correct route
-
Report any issues or emergencies to event staff

Vendor Assistance

Help vendors check in and set up booths

Provide guidance regarding event layout and logistics

Keep vendor areas organized and accessible

Event Setup & Cleanup

Assist with setting up tents, tables, signs, and materials before the race

Help with post-event cleanup and material teardown

Ensure the venue is left safe and tidy
