IMAS Operation Imagination Summer Camp - Education Volunteers

IMAS Operation Imagination Summer Camp is seeking passionate and enthusiastic individuals interested in art, science, or with experience in education.
Education Assistant Commitment:

Must commit to a full week, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays)

Shift: 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM daily

Arrive on time each camp day to assist the Education team
Education Assistant Duties:
-
Assist IMAS Educators with drop-off and pick-up times

Support classroom management and help facilitate camp activities

Help with setup and cleanup of classrooms and activity areas to keep them organized and safe

Engage with campers in a positive and encouraging manner
Each week, two concurrent camp sessions run with distinct themes and age groups.
Week 4: June 23–27
*Jr. Geologist (2nd–4th Grade)
Explore the fascinating world of geology! Campers will learn about the rock cycle, Mohs hardness scale, and mineral characteristics through hands-on experiments and microscopic observations. Activities include growing Aragonite crystals from Dolomite rocks and accessing the IMAS geology collection.
*Visual Artist Apprentice (3rd–5th Grade)
Sharpen your fine art skills in this creative and expressive camp. Campers will explore different artistic techniques including painting, printmaking, and drawing, and will have the opportunity to create original works to be showcased at the museum.

Participants will gain experience in classroom management, lesson plan facilitation, informal learning in museum education, and creating memorable experiences and lasting friendships.
