The McAllen Chamber of Commerce is awarding Community Service Hours, T-shirts, Tickets to Concerts and Gaming Events at MXLAN 2022 in exchange for volunteer assistance at the festival.
MXLAN is McAllen’s 5-day interactive arts & music festival that celebrates Mexican culture through open-air performances, street food, artisans, and outdoor music at the McAllen Convention Center July 27 - 31, 2022.
This is what’s in it for you:
- A certificate from the McAllen Chamber of Commerce with the total number of community service hours you’ve contributed
- A MXLAN t-shirt to keep & wear while you are helping
- Those who complete 16 hours of volunteer service will also be entered into a raffle to receive a ticket to either, entrance into the MXLAN eSPORT gaming, or other happenings at the festival!
There are several areas needing assistance. This Need Post is for:
Neon Nights 5K
This volunteer position is for assistance needed at MXLAN's Neon Nights 5K on July 27th. Share the night with vibrant lights, dj music and energy as 1000’s run. The run will be followed by a medal ceremony and celebration. Shifts are 3 to 4 hours long.
The shift on July 27th is from 4pm to 7pm at the MXLAN festival grounds and involves race set-up with various tasks such as finish line setup, unloading boxes, posting signs, unpacking awards, etc.). The shift on July 27th is from 7pm to 10pm involves various tasks such as greeting participants with smiles and answering questions, directing runners and providing water at water stations.
