AMSA will be hosting a non-profit Autism Awareness Day Fair on Monday, April 2, 2018 at UTRGV’s Brownsville Student Union Lawn from 12 noon to 2:00 PM.
We plan to have several agencies related to autism, mental health, and certain disabilities host informative tables.
You will be responsible for presenting one of four AAD display boards to fair participants: Autism, Hearing Impairments, Visual Impairments, and Dyslexia.
The Hearing Impairment table will have a laptop equipped with headphones.
The Visual Impairment table will have a Braille typewriter. Participants will be able to get a card with their name on it in Braille.
The Dyslexia table will have a laptop to provide a simulation of how people with dyslexia read.
