Calling all volunteers!
Proyecto Juan Diego (PJD) is seeking volunteers for our After-School Tutorial Program where volunteers help empower students in their academics by assisting them with subjects like math, reading, and science.
PJD was founded in 2003 and began with an initiative where employees and volunteers completed house-to-house surveys to find out the needs of the community from their perspective. That's why we provide free services to the community in order to empower low-income families to be healthy and self-sufficient community members through educational programs, family activities, and preventative health services.
The PJD After-School Tutorial Program aims to instill in children a passion for learning and help them achieve academic success. Tutoring is from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. All volunteers are required to attend a five hour orientation as well as undergo a background check and sign a volunteer agreement.
Volunteer with us today and make a positive impact in a child’s life, as well as your community, while gaining hands-on and firsthand experience educating in areas of math, science, and reading.
