Description

The South Texas Book Festival is designed expressly for children and teens! It will be held at the McAllen Main Library, and is a free event open to the public featuring a diverse group of national, regional, and local youth authors. The authors will participate in readings, panel discussions, and book signings. We will also have fun outdoor activities, book sales, and food!

We are looking for volunteers to help with:

  • Children's Activities
  • Book Giveaway Area
  • Bouncy Houses
  • Storybook Garden Book Sales assistants
  • Traffic assistance
  • . . . and more!

This exciting, family-friendly community literacy day is always a blast!  All Volunteers will receive snacks and drinks. Volunteer orientation sessions will also be provided ahead of time.

Anyone interested can fill out the City of McAllen volunteer application. Once that is processed, we will contact you regarding your shift preferences and to provide information regarding our Volunteer Orientation.

In the meantime, feel free to contact Veronica Zarate, at vzarate@mcallen.net, with any questions!
