Farm to Table is a one of a kind dining experience that brings fresh, locally grown ingredients straight from our community farms to your plate. More than a dinner, it is a celebration of flavor, connection, and sustainability while supporting our mission to cultivate healthy food and lifestyles in our community. This special evening also serves as a fundraising event that helps us continue our efforts and expand our impact.

Here is what we need help with:

Pre-Event Setup Volunteers-

Assist with unloading supplies and materials Arrange tables, chairs, linens, and décor Set up signage, registration/check-in area, and auction/raffle tables Help decorate and prepare the event space before guests arrive

Dress Code:

Simple all-black attire OR country-inspired styleBreathable clothing (event will be outdoors and may get warm)Comfortable shoes (lots of walking and moving around)

Probaditas 2025 – Nutrition & Community Support

Support Probaditas, a program promoting La Cocina Alegre through community outreach. Volunteers will assist with general tasks including:

Food preparation and handling

Event set-up and clean-up

Engaging with the public and sharing information about La Cocina Alegre

Assisting with teaching or demos

Helping with community outreach and participant logistics

Shifts Available:

Tuesdays and Thursdays: Morning 9 am - 1 pm & Afternoon 1 pm - 5 pm

Weekends: 9 AM – 12 PM

It's three probaditas per week. (Please check your emails to be updated about every available shift and times.)

Requirements/Attire:

Minimum age: 19

Dress code: Casual and clean; no spaghetti straps or very short shorts/skirts

Comfortable shoes recommended

Food handler certification on Blackboard encouraged

Location: Varies; report to UTHealth for coordination

Assignments and confirmations will be coordinated directly by the La Cocina Alegre team. Participants will be contacted with their assigned tasks.
