Special Olympics Texas in partnership with PSJA ISD will host the 2026 Castilo Hoops, a two-day basketball event honoring Luis Castillo, a member of our Competition Committee. This first day is for individuals ages 6-15 to compete in dribbling, shooting, and passing skills, preparing athletes for the next level.

We need support to make this event successful and provide a positive experience for all athletes. Roles include:

Results Assistant: Record and organize individual scores for each skill challenge.

Award Presenter: Distribute awards to participants at the end of each skill event.

Court Assistant: Help set up skill stations, manage equipment, and assist athletes.

Crowd Control: Guide spectators, maintain order, and ensure safety throughout the event.

Lace up the kicks for the hardwood! The Castillo Hoops Team Competition brings together Basketball Teams of the RGV Area to compete in 5v5 or 3v3 Traditional and Unified Divisions. The event is FREE to spectate and cheer on your favorite team.

La Feria ISD in partnership with Special Olympics Texas Rio Grande Valley Area will be hosting the 2026 Lower Valley Basketball Skills Competition on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at La Feria Early College High School.

We need support to make this event a success and provide an amazing experience for our athletes. Roles include:

Results Assistant: Gather and organize competition results and score summaries.

Award Presenter: Distribute awards to athletes.

Court Assistant: Help set up and manage basketball stations, assist athletes during skills events.

Crowd Control: Guide spectators, maintain order, and ensure safety during the event.

Special Olympics Texas Rio Grande Valley Area will be hosting the 2026 Area Topgolf Competition on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Topgolf Pharr!

We are looking for Competition Logistics Assistants to help create a smooth and fun experience for all athletes. Duties include:

Score Tracking & Results Assistant: Record scores, track progress, and ensure accurate results for each game.

Award Assistant: Help distribute medals and recognitions to athletes after their events.

Participant Support Assistant: Guide athletes to their bays, support them during gameplay, and assist with equipment setup.

Spectator & Flow Support: Ensure the venue is organized, assist families and spectators, and help maintain a safe and encouraging environment.

Special Olympics Texas Rio Grande Valley Area will be hosting the 2026 RGV Tennis Competition on Friday, May 8, 2026, at HEB Tennis Center in Harlingen, Texas.

We are seeking Event Assistants to help ensure a smooth and supportive experience for all athletes. Duties include:

Results & Score Assistant: Track match scores, record results, and organize summaries for each tennis match.

Award Presenter: Distribute medals, ribbons, and recognitions to participants.

Court Assistant: Help manage tennis courts, support athletes during matches, and assist with equipment setup.

We are looking for Event Assistants to help make this multi-day competition a success and support our athletes. Duties include:

Results & Score Assistant: Track event results, record scores, and organize summaries for each activity.

Award Presenter: Distribute medals, ribbons, and recognitions to participants.

Field/Event Assistant: Help manage each event area, set up equipment, and assist athletes during activities.

Crowd/Flow Assistant: Maintain order, guide attendees, and support spectators throughout the stadium.

Special Olympics Texas Rio Grande Valley Area will be hosting the 2026 Castilo’s Goool Soccer Competition on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at IDEA Toros in partnership with IDEA Public Schools.

We are looking for Event Assistants to help make this competition a success and support our athletes. Duties include:

Score & Results Assistant: Track game results, record scores, and organize summaries.

Award Presenter: Distribute medals, ribbons, and recognitions to participants.

Field/Lane Assistant: Help manage the playing field, ensure equipment is ready, and assist athletes.

Crowd/Flow Assistant: Help maintain order, guide attendees, and support spectators.
