Who We Are

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance of Cameron County, Texas, is a coalition of community organizations led by United Way of Southern Cameron County, including Brownsville ISD, Community Development Corp. of Brownsville, Ethel Whipple Memorial Library, Laguna Madre Youth Center, Los Fresnos CISD, Point Isabel ISD, Port Isabel Public Library, PUB, San Benito CISD, Texas Southmost College, United Way of Northern Cameron County, and University of Texas RGV.

What We Do

Help your community by providing free tax assistance. Train and certify as an IRS VITA tax preparer using self-paced online training in the fall and file tax returns free of charge for working families from January - April at VITA sites throughout Cameron County, Texas. The IRS training platform at Link and Learn Taxes opens in early November.
