Who We Are
The mission of the Ronald McDonald House Charities® of the Rio Grande Valley is to "keep families close" by providing essential resources and a "home away from home" for families of critically ill children receiving medical care at Valley hospitals such as Edinburg Children's Hospital and Valley Baptist Medical Center. The Ronald McDonald House located across VBMC allows families to access specialized medical treatment by providing a place to stay at little or sometimes no cost.
Volunteers at the Edinburg Family Room register new visitors, sign-in registered patrons, and explain the rules of the Family Room while maintaining a relaxing home-like environment. More than anything we need someone to be there at all times to ensure the Family Room is open so that parents and patrons always have these amenities available to them. It is a great feeling to provide some comfort and care to families in need. By volunteering at either of our locations you can experience the many rewards that come from helping others.
