Since 2010, the Brownsville Chamber of Commerce (BCOC) has been training women on core business competencies that are essential to the success of a business. For the first time, this year’s program has been conducted by the Women’s Business Center of Cameron County (WBC-CC), which is co-located with the Chamber, and is partially funded by the United States Small Business Administration (SBA) and BCOC.
The course consisted of six half-day sessions that covered an overview of business planning, practical marketing and social media tactics, real life lessons on human resources, SBA tools and resources for women-owned businesses, leadership strategies, and more.
