The Athletics Meet brings about the greatness of the sport of Track and Field for our Special Olympics Texas RGV Athletes, and we send a 'Thank you' to Harlingen CISD, Harlingen Special Education Department, who will be hosting us!!
This will be a memorable Wednesday, to bring about all levels of Track and Field Skills Athletes and BE BRAVE in each Attempt out at the Track and Field walking, running, rolling, jumping, throwing and go for the 'Gold'!!
Volunteer duties:
- Escort Assistants: Assist with the safe and organized movement of participants, attendees, or VIPs to designated areas during the event.
- Track Timers: Responsible for accurately timing and recording track events, ensuring results are documented properly and promptly.
- Track Stations Assistants: Support the operation of assigned track stations, ensuring smooth transitions and providing assistance to participants and event staff.
- Field Station Assistants: Assist with managing field event areas, ensuring all equipment is ready, and helping participants during the competition.
- Event Set-Up, Tear-Down, and Equipment Handling: Prepare the venue by setting up and dismantling equipment, as well as loading and unloading necessary items.
- Award Presenters: Deliver awards to recipients during ceremonies and ensure smooth execution of the award presentation process.
- Result Assistants: Support the compilation, verification, and distribution of event results in a timely and accurate manner.
Please wear athletic, comfortable clothing and closed-toe athletic shoes—sandals or Crocs are not allowed. Volunteers are also encouraged to wear clothing that promotes their student organization (if applicable) or university.
