The Challenge-RGV is an opportunity for participants to make sustainable healthy lifestyle changes and lose weight when appropriate. The Challenge-RGV partners with local gyms, fitness experts, nutritionists, and local organizations. Over the course of three months, participants have FREE access to gyms, exercise classes, health screenings, cooking classes, and fun walks/runs.
The event is open to those who registered to participate in January. Individuals who participate in The Challenge-RGV have their baseline weight taken at the kickoff event in January, and then again at a midpoint weigh-in and at the finale in April. Join us in celebrating the health journey of our participants at our Finale events!
We are in need of assistance with blood pressure checks and BMI readings for The Challenge-RGV Finale events in Brownsville and Edinburg. All volunteers are required to arrive an hour before the event start time to assist with set up.

The Challenge-RGV Early Weigh-out (Brownsville): Tuesday, April 8th – Joe & Tony Oliveira Park (104 El Paso Rd, Brownsville, TX 78520) from 4:00pm - 7:00pm (UTRGV volunteer arrival time is 3:00pm)
