IMAS Operation Imagination Summer Camp - Education Volunteers
June 2, 2025 – August 1, 2025
IMAS Operation Imagination Summer Camp is seeking passionate and enthusiastic individuals interested in art, science, or with experience in education.
Education Assistant Commitment:
- Must commit to a full week, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays)
- Shift: 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM daily
- Arrive on time each camp day to assist the Education team
Education Assistant Duties:
- Assist IMAS Educators with drop-off and pick-up times
- Support classroom management and help facilitate camp activities
- Help with setup and cleanup of classrooms and activity areas to keep them organized and safe
- Engage with campers in a positive and encouraging manner
Each week, two concurrent camp sessions run with distinct themes and age groups.
Week 1: June 2–6
*Movie Makers (3rd–5th Grade)
Learn about storyboards, scripts, and set design while working as a team to create a cinematic masterpiece. Campers will act, voice, and direct their own productions while exploring special effects, make-up, and costume design.
*Dino Expedition (2nd–4th Grade)
Dig into Earth’s prehistoric past and explore the world of dinosaurs and ancient creatures. Campers will learn about paleontology, tools of the trade, and even explore real fossils from the IMAS collection.
Additional Information:
- Only 4 Education Assistant spaces available per week.
- Participants will gain experience in classroom management, lesson plan facilitation, informal learning in museum education, and creating memorable experiences and lasting friendships.
