The Great American Cleanup is here and this Saturday from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.! This description is made to give you as many details on the event as possible to make this a fun and enjoyable experience.
EVENT DATE: April 15th (Saturday), 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.
SUPPLY PICKUP:
Students will pickup their supplies on April 14th (Friday) from 1 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the Downtown Recreation Center (DRC) located on 1338 E. 8th St. We will have on-site backup supplies at the locations, but we are trying to reserve those supplies for last second, or unexpected participants (a friend or family member decides to tag along).
LOCATIONS TO REPORT TO ON APRIL 15TH (You can report to any location your choosing):
- Morningside Park
- Portway Acres
- Brownsville Events Center
- Monte Bella Trails Park
- 14th St. Plaza (Downtown)
STEPS:
- You will report to the on-site rep at 8 a.m. who will sign you in. Please be sure to bring the supplies you had picked up the day before.
- Begin to collect trash within a 5-mile radius of the meeting point.
- If you fill your bag or it becomes too heavy to carry, please bring it back to the meeting point where we collect the bag. You can also leave the bag on the nearest street corner but be sure to send us a picture of the bag with its location.
- At 1 p.m. we will all meet back at the meeting point to end the cleanup.
