Purpose: The primary goal of the toy drive is to collect toys for underserved children in the Rio Grande Valley, ensuring they have gifts during the holiday season. This event fosters community spirit and encourages generosity among local businesses and residents.
Activities/Services:
- Setting up collection boxes in various business locations.
- Regularly checking in with business owners to ensure boxes are maintained and to collect any donations.
- Organizing and sorting toys once collected, preparing them for distribution to children in need.
Specific Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Box Setup: Volunteers will be responsible for putting up collection boxes at designated business locations.
- Business Outreach: Maintaining communication with business owners to ensure the boxes are full and in good condition, as well as discussing any additional donations.
- Toy Sorting: After the collection period, volunteers will help sort the toys by age group and type for easy distribution.
Skills/Experience:
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with business owners and community members.
- Organizational skills for sorting and managing collected toys.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to work as part of a team.

- Ongoing Business Check-Ins: November 2nd - December 13th (preferably once a week; timing to be arranged with individual volunteers).
