The Children’s Bereavement Center of the Rio Grande Valley is seeking individuals to assist with dinner service before their evening peer support groups for children and their caregivers in Harlingen and McAllen.
Volunteers will help create a warm and welcoming environment for families attending the center's evening programs.
Volunteer Duties:
- Set up the meal area before dinner
- Serve dinner to children and their caregivers
- Assist with light clean-up after the meal
- Help maintain a welcoming and supportive environment for families
Schedule:
Typically 5:30 PM–6:45 PM
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must complete a volunteer application
- Must pass a background check
- Friendly, dependable, and compassionate
- No previous experience required
Volunteers will not be responsible for facilitating or participating in the peer support groups. Their role is specifically focused on assisting with the meal service and helping create a welcoming environment before the groups begin.
Important: Meal donations are also accepted by the center; however, meal donations do not count toward volunteer hours.
